Power
A warrior is never without his arms. Gale is not only gifted in multiple Disciplines of War, but supernaturally empowered on several fronts. It's all intricate enough it warrants some direct explanation.
The Blessing of Light
As the chosen of Hydaelyn, Gale has been imbued with an extraordinary resistance to Astral and Umbral aether. His own aether being naturally light aligned, he can withstand light and darkness in excess without ill side effects. However, this strength is not complete immunity, as the Lightwardens proved. Once upon a time, this blessing included the direct intervention of the Mothercrystal, but this is no longer possible at present for self-apparent reasons.
The Echo
Once thought to be an extension of Hydaelyn's blessing, the truth is far more complex. The Echo is an individual's subconscious awakening to their former inherent magics as an Ancient. It's manifestation differs depending on the individual. Gale's Echo is twofold. Most apparently, he is able to catch glimpses of the past, though entirely outside his control with the side effect of disabling him for the vision's duration. Secondly, his Echo provides him with short-term precognition in response to danger, allowing him to predict the actions of his opponents.
The Blade of Light
When a problem proves insurmountably stubborn, a metaphorical unstoppable force must needs be employed. The Blade of Light is exactly what it sounds like, a weapon manifested of pure light aether. While the staff Tipsumati was originally necessary for its deployment, Gale has since learned to form the Blade with only the aether necessary to fuel it. Several surfeits of aether are required to do so, there is very little that can feasibly survive a blow from the Warrior of Light's mightiest weapon.
The Crystal of Azem
A belated parting gift from a new, old friend. The Crystal of Azem allows Gale to access the memories and some small fraction of his Ancient self's gifts. Like the Echo, Gale cannot choose which memories he recalls, but at the least is capable of summoning up a vision at will. The crystal's most vital function is the Invocation of Azem. By clutching the crystal to his breast and wishing it so, Gale is able to summon his allies to himself, no matter the distance or circumstance. The Traveler is never truly alone.
